Project 365: Days 256 - 275

11/04/2010

Day 256: These cats LOOOOOVE my patio...

11/05/2010

Day 257: A kitten!! But, he's feral and angry.

11/06/2010

Day 258: While I went to O'Connell's to watch the game, this is where I spent the majority of my day.  The SAD majority.
11/07/2010

Day 259:The feral kitten is much nicer with his papa nearby!

11/08/2010

Day 260: My favorite kitty is the siamese, a bit of a loner.  She waits for me outside my door most afternoons.

11/09/2010

Day 261: delish little beauty of an egg...poached!! (I'm so proud of myself...)

11/10/2010

Day 262: Coincidentally left the door open on a cold night when the kitties were on the patio.  Ooops

11/11/2010

Day 263:RSVP to my office's Christmas party...my first big-kid job Christmas party :o)

11/12/2010

Day 264: My nice new neighbors asked me to move my bike (we share a patio)...so here it is.  Doesn't it go so well with my office?!

11/13/2010

Day 265: At Logan's with Kirsten and Ryann after the game :o)

11/14/2010

Day 266: I'm so boring. Such is the life of a grad school student.

11/15/2010

Day 267: For the love of organizational psychology!! MMMMmmm I love grad school (not).

11/16/2010

Day 268: I didn't even mean for this picture to be the picture of the day, but I realized that I spent all...freaking...night (and the last three days) at the library!! This was a really helpful chart that made writing go a TON faster for about half an hour!

11/17/2010

Day 269: My new dress for the office Christmas party!!

11/18/2010
Day 270: While looking for dress patterns in the McCall's book at Hobby Lobby, I came across this delightful number :o).

11/19/2010

Day 271: The office getting pumped to drop a few last-minute pounds overall over the last weekend of the Biggest Loser competition.

11/20/2010

Day 272: Kirsten and Brad came over to watch the game...I had steamed green beans for dinner dipped in a shot glass of Worchestershire sauce!! Yummmm

11/21/2010

Day 273: Check out my new lamp!! I bought it ugly and brassy at a garage sale for only $1, then spent $3 each on a can of spray paint primer (I ran out on my last project) and silver pewter paint...$12 lampshade....$19 lamp!! However, I consider it to be less because I can reuse the paint, I was just out of both :o)

11/22/2010

Day 274: In case I haven't mentioned, I love fall sunsets!!!

11/23/2010

Day 275: I spent a quiet night in.  I left the door open because it was really nice outside and the kitties found their way in. DANGIT.  (I haven't done this since....)

You'll have to excuse me...Day 10 (September 16, 2010)

I missed last night's post.  Grad school is tough!! Hehe...I have a really big paper due tomorrow, so I've been living in The 'Zzel since yesterday morning. I did work today, but was right back here after work.

Also, Saturday was post #100!!! Way exciting :o).

Without further ado, .......

______________________________

I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I looked at the clock and it read 8:09 am. Work starts at 8:00! I jumped out of bed, brushed my teeth and started getting dressed. Makeup was smeared down my face and my eyes were a little bloodshot. Once, I calmed down I remembered that it wasn’t a big deal that I could be late once in a while (my office is very relaxed). So, I took the time to straighten my hair enough to look presentable, washed my face and put in some eye drops. I got to the office by 8:40 and quickly tried to make up for some lost time.

It wasn’t happening. I couldn’t stop smiling and I couldn’t stop texting Kirsten and Angie about the night before. I had butterflies in my stomach, and I could tell I liked Pete from our initial meeting much more than I expected to. He and I texted most of the day and I couldn’t wait to see him again.

The next night was my date with David. I honestly, like with Pete, didn’t want to go. However, because the date with Pete went so well, I figured I might as well give David a chance. At worst, I would only have to spend two hours with the guy…

Some 365 to Take a Break from Studying...

Still working on that 5-Day Maximum Upload for the next few weeks!!

BTW, I scheduled TWO doctors appointments today for next week AND worked on my Halloween costume for about 20 minutes :o)...and of course I'm working toward those Straight A's in between study breaks. #waytogome.

09/30/2010

Day 221: It has begun. Again. (sigh)

10/01/2010

Day 222: What a lucky day!!! Left OKC for Dallas! West End is always a blast for OU/TX :o)

10/02/2010

Day 223: BOOOMER!!! OU/TX at House of Blues...and a "W!!!"

10/03/2010

Day 224: On our way back to OK. Thanks for the traffic, @$$holes.

10/04/2010

Day 225: Studying fiend. Midterms are awesome.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

I must be a glutton for punishment. I keep talking about how busy I am all the time. The fact of the matter is that I love being this busy (I just can't stand the stress).

I was thinking today about all of the things that I want to do with my life...starting NOW. You all should know by now that I love learning new things and google-ing my way to expert status on variety of random subjects. I've gotten to the point now where I should be getting serious about my hobbies and goals and all of those things.

So, here are some goals for the next three months. Three months before the end of this year means I need to get busy!!! I really didn't set a New Year's Resolution this last year because I was such an emotional disaster and so unsure about where my life was going/what I would be doing. Right now, I am happy with where I'm at, despite a little uncertainty.

  1. Knit my Halloween Costume.
  2. Sew a dress for Christmas parties.
  3. Make artwork to go above my sofa.
  4. Help my team win #TheBiggestLoserOOSI with healthier eating, a workout regimine and much less drinking.
  5. Get my Christmas shopping done prior to the week before Christmas.
  6. Finish (Start) my entertainment cabinet.
  7. Make Lobster Tails.
  8. Work on a budget.
  9. Save for a new car (January purchase, probably).
  10. Meet quota at work for the next 3 months.
  11. NoBloPoMo.
  12. Catch up with some friends I've been neglecting since starting the new job.
  13. Strive for a more stable love-life (this may be self-induced, and may not happen until after the 3 months, but alas...).
  14. Get myself to all of the appropriate doctors (ob-gyn, physician, dentist, dermatologist) with my rockin' new health insurance.
  15. Straight A's. I know. I'm crazy.
15 GOALS IN 13 WEEKS!!!

365 Yos!

I'm trying to make this easier on myself. I've been working REALLY hard on my 33 days blog so that the first drafts are already done before I even need to start posting :o)...only a few more weeks, folks!!! The other hard part of doing two projects at once (365 & 33 Days) is not giving away any details of the 33 Days project in the 365 Project. Lol I'm making my life much more complicated than it should be...

Plus, if I upload 5 or less images, I only have to wait for one upload from blogger.
#lovefreeblogs.

09/26/2010

Day 217: Kirsten ate pork & liked it. Brad couldn't even wait to eat. I ate pork and looked like I hadn't slept ever.

09/27/2010

Day 218: Spent the whole night at the library working on a paper with Alex. Then, I slept on her couch for a whole 2 1/2 hours before driving to work. #ILoveGradSchool.

09/28/2010

Day 219: My paper was due at 9:00. The dropbox closed at 9:01. I'm such a rockstar...*slash* I work best under pressure. 16 pages in 3 days!! (Plus work Monday and Tuesday)

09/29/2010

Day 220: I know. My pillows are awesome!!! (I MADE THEM!!!) And, I really need some wall art above the sofa.....

Holy Stress Level.

I should NOT be blogging right now; I have to...I feel like I could scream, so I'm going to write instead.

I have no earthly idea what I'm doing in grad school right now. I'm happy with the decision to stay in...I'm happier with the decision to switch concentrations...I'm not happy with extreme amounts of anxiety I've been having over the past 4 weeks. We're talking serious, lose sleep, lose your breakfast, not be able to focus on anything but the stress sort of anxiety. The sort of anxiety that I loathe because it's all too familiar & I've tried to banish it all many times before.

I don't want to drop all of my classes. I don't want to drop any of my classes. BUT...I don't want the stress either. I'd love just to go on autopilot for the next 13 weeks and get it all done with grace & skill, but I just don't know if that's possible.

I am feeling so much conflict about this!! I would rather be investing this stress into my great job or into my great friends or my great family....instead it's invested into school, which seems more like a waste than anything. Education is a waste? Is that what I'm saying? That doesn't sound like me.

So, on a Monday night, I'm sitting at Picasso Cafe in Paseo while 50 twenty-somethings are enjoying Motown Night....I'm supposed to be reading and writing on advertising ethics theory development. I love the topic, I don't love the dry and boring scholarship (I'd rather just have the wealth of knowledge that comes from reading without the painful act). I should be here until the place closes down, hurry home & continue writing until 3 or 4 or.......I don't even want to think about it.

So, I know I shouldn't be blogging, but I can't seem to concentrate on the task at hand. If I go home, I will surely fall asleep. At least I'm forced to stay awake here.

I do love that I have my APA manual with me :o)....sigh.

Sunday 365

OH MY WORD THIS IS GOING TO BE A ROUGH SIXTEEN WEEKS!!!

Work is wearing me out. School is terrifying me. I just need to get through it, but I really nervous about staying on track!!! Anyway, now I will HAVE to blog on the weekends and I will HAVE to stay up to date so that I can't get too far behind!

08/22/2010

Day 182: I got rid of my last boxes from moving!!!!

08/23/2010

Day 183: I went to the tailor to get a dress fixed and saw this in the changing room: Nicole and I both have watercolors by this same artist in Paris!!!

08/24/2010

Day 184: So excited that Alex is in one of my classes w
ith me! We went to Blu after class for dinner.

08/25/2010

Day 185: Kirsten looking pensive and studious as Cuppies & Joe

08/26/2010

Day 186: Pouting....it was a rough day for both of us. BUT! We got to try Sauced in Paseo for dinner.

08/27/2010

Day 187: Drake's in town!!! :D

08/28/2010

Day 188: I loooooove Sam's Club. I got a 24 case of 5-Hour-Energy to get me through the nights that I have class after work. According to Death by Caffeine, I'm at the half-way point before this stuff kills me (if I were to drink them all at once...)

Cuppies and Jo

Have you ever been in Cuppies & Jo? It's on NW 23rd (just past Big Truck, my favorite City reference point)....it's adorable!

I'm here with Kirsten, supposed to be studying, and I can't seem to get over how FREAKING ADORABLE this place is. Nothing matches. Wood floors. Comfy seating. Coffee. The entire atmosphere screams KIRSTEN! (Did you hear that? It screamed).

I plan on being here every Wednesday night for the next 16 weeks....so that I can study....like right now. OKay back to readingggggg!!!

No Sleep

I woke up at 3:00 this morning; I haven't been able to sleep at all.

I gave up around 5:15 & decided to try & figure things out....:o/

I'm really struggling right now with whether or not to continue grad school. I've basically decided that if I don't get a job offer by July 1st (when I would need to renew my lease), then I should probably stay in school. I want a job. The best scenario would be to find a great job here...I just don't know if it's going to happen. And....grad school paid the bills this semester b/c of my assistantship. It would continue to pay the bills. It's an enticing offer. (I can worry about my student loan debt later, I guess).

The problem is: I don't want to be in school forever. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE school, but I also love living an adult life and I really love making & having money. I also don't want to be in school forever if I'm not absolutely certain it's what I want to do/to be.

So, in order to stay in school, I need to bust my butt & get it done. This last semester was spent catching up...leveling courses. Not that interesting, which is maybe why I hated it from the beginning. My one graduate class was terrible, impractical & depressing.

I was looking at what it would take to get the rest of this degree DONE in 3 more semesters...it would be tough, but possible. Remember, grad students are half-time at 5 hours and full-time at 9...

August Intersession: 3 hours
Fall 2010: 12 hours (9 Grad, 3 Undergrad @ OCCC) --> highly unadvised!!!
Spring 2011: 10 hours
Summer 2011: 3 hours
Fall 2011: 8 hours

The thing is, whether I put myself on a deadline or not, it really only makes sense to go nuts this fall. The August Intersession is a class I could really use. I would have to get that 3 hour undergrad class out of the way, & 6 hours of the classes would have to be done in the fall only anyway. If I decided to add back on the extra semester, it would only be in order to take a semester for an amazing internship or something.

So, for now, my plan is to keep searching for that "right job" for the next 2-3 weeks...& search hard. If nothing by the 1st, then "be cool, stay in school...again."

What do you think?

Catching Up 365

I know....this is ridiculous. It's really hard to keep track when photos are on camera, iphone & photobooth. I promise to try and do better!!!!

05/03/2010

Day 71: The beginning of DEAD WEEK!!! "Fuel" for finishing all of my stuff for Thursday (this was Monday of dead week): 6,000 word paper (22 pages), 15 page law paper, 10 minute powerpoint presentation, law exam

05/04/2010

Day 72: Drake's roommate Jared make A-MA-ZING food. Can I keep him? This was a well deserved study break (following by an all-nighter, of course).

05/05/2010

Day 73: Cinco de Moustache....I went out after finishing one paper and getting to a good stopping point on the other. Since I'd only slept about 10 hours in 3 days, 1 drink was more than enough to get me loopy. Went home at 10:30....to find this. Tucker raids the "pantry" and has eaten a bunch of ramen.

05/06/2010

Day 74: How did I not figure this out before this week?! Studying outside on my screened-in porch is great. I finished my big paper an hour before it was due!! I then went to class from 6:00 to 10:30 (ugh), gave my presentation, then drove to the city to see the midnight showing of Iron Man 2!!! I then proceeded to stay up until 4:30 and wake at 8:00....still no sleep :o/. BUT I'M DONE!!!

05/07/2010

Day 75: NICOLE'S 23rd BIRTHDAY!!! The Christmas Lights messed up the picture, but it's the only one I got. Dinner and drinks at In the Raw followed by drinks at Louie's 2, more drinks at Logan's and more drinks at Seven47.

05/08/2010

Day 76: Do you notice that the days I am hungover are ALWAYS a picture of my dog? He's cute.

05/09/2010

Day 77: Of course I forgot to actually bring my camera to take a picture of my mom and brother on Mother's Day (dad was flying, we met up in Gainesville for lunch), but she did bring Tucker a new toy: a pipe!! LOL it's so cute but I couldn't seem to get him to keep it in his mouth for a picture.

05/10/2010

Day 78: I already posted my tornado pic, but let's face it: something more important today happened. Jack In the Box opened in Norman. I waited 45 minutes for fast food.

05/11/2010

Day 79: I have been cooking so much lately. This will be another recipe post. Italian Pork Chops = one of my favorites, even though you can't really see because of premature parmesan. I could eat this every day.

05/12/2010

Day 80: After finishing an online final, the semester is officially 100% over for me!!! Happy birthday Alex!!! Karaoke at Old O'Connell's.

05/13/2010

Day 81: This was found in another post....the havoc of my bed post the end of the semester.

05/14/2010

Day 82: 97 cent shoes boxes at Wal-Mart + label maker = CLOSET HEAVEN!!! I AM SO THRILLED THAT I DID THIS!!! I have all my sandals in one, all my rubber flip-flops in another. I have more shoes in a big trunk in my other closet, but I'm thinking of getting rid of a lot of those when I move...we'll see!

05/15/2010

Day 83: The aftermath of going out when it's been raining all week....

05/16/2010

Day 84: Worst hangover of my life today...Honestly....I was still sick at 7 pm. But, look how cute my doggie is!

05/17/2010

Day 85: Look!!! It's MEGAN!!!! :D

05/18/2010

Day 86: Friends at Tara's!!! Brad......

05/19/2010

Day 87: Wal-Mart is pretty....really, the sunset at Wal-Mart....but regardless. Another one of these coming up!!

05/20/2010

Day 88: That crane OWNED KFC. I guess they're remodeling.

05/21/2101

Day 89: Who knew Wal-Mart could be so beautiful?!?!

05/22/2010

Day 90: When you're too tired to cook & decide to make "Easy Mac" instead, PLEASE remember to add water. The thing caught on fire, set off the smoke detector, & I had to leave my kitchen windows open for three days.

05/23/2010

Day 91: Tucker smiling because I bought him a burger at Jack In the Box. LOL that thing was GONE in about 40 seconds.

05/24/2010

Day 92: The day affectionately known as "The One When I Left My Apartment for Three Hours & Tucker Didn't Mess ANYTHING Up".....a first.

05/25/2010

Day 93: Went to Blu with Alex...this has never happened before. :D

05/26/2010

Day 94: My good friend Angie & I went to McNellie's in midtown, then back to her apartment. This is her puppy Great Dane, Chloe. Such a sweet horse.

05/27/2010

Day 95: In bed all day, partly for a job search, mostly because I'm lazy, included a Skype night with the fabulous LauraLovingLife. Tucker faithfully watches me do nothing all day.

05/28/2010

Day 96: Even though I truly did nothing the day before, I was on the phone until 5, up until 7...AM. Another day spent in bed recovering from my ridiculous sleep pattern. Thought this pic was funny!

05/29/2010

Day 97: Forced myself out of bed to help Angela "move." Really, we just got her windows tinted then went to the Paseo Arts Festival with her roommate Stacy!! ALI HARTER WAS AMAZING!
